Dr. Lisa Singer

Dr. Lisa Singer is a small animal internal medicine specialist at Veterinary Specialist Services in Queensland. She was born and raised in California. She did both her BA and VMD at the University of Pennsylvania and graduated from there as a veterinarian in 2008. She completed her internships at Veterinary Medical and Surgical Group in southern California, the University of Missouri, a specialty internship in Emergency at Critical Care at the University of California Davis, and her residency in Small Animal Internal Medicine at Michigan State University in 2014. Lisa became a board certified internist in 2014 and joined VSS shortly after. Dr. Singer has lectured locally throughout Australia and Internationally. She has published several book chapters, presented research at multiple conferences, and primary authored multiple publications. Most notably, her residency research was on feline idiopathic cystitis and lower urinary tract disease in cats. Dr. Singer likes all aspects of internal medicine, but particularly enjoys the challenge of diagnosing and treating complicated lower urinary tract disease , infectious diseases, immune mediated diseases, and gastrointestinal diseases. When not practicing medicine, Lisa enjoys all things outdoors such as cycling, surfing/paddle boarding and hiking. She also loves to cook. She is the proud owner of a sassy talkative Siamese, Bella, and an elusive Russian blue, Sage.

Dr Philip Judge

Philip graduated from Massey University in New Zealand in 1992, and spent 7 years in small animal practice before undertaking a 3-year residency in veterinary emergency and critical care at the University of Melbourne in 1998.

Following his residency, Philip worked for nearly 6 years at the Animal Emergency Centre in Melbourne, becoming the Senior Veterinarian at the centre in 2004. In 2006, Philip undertook a 1-year surgical externship before moving to Townsville to take up the position of Senior Lecturer in Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care at JCU.
Philip is also co-founder, and director of Vet Education Pty Ltd (www.veteducation.com) – one of Australia’s leading providers of online continuing education for veterinarians and veterinary nurses.

Philip has published numerous manuals and guides concerning emergency medicine, including a CRI manual, haematology and biochemistry interpretation guide, emergency anaesthesia guide, and a ventilation therapy manual for small animals, in addition to being published in peer reviewed literature.

Philip’s key interests in veterinary science include respiratory emergencies, ventilation therapy, envenomations and toxicology.
