About this Lecture
About this Lecture
Paroxysmal dyskinesias (PDs) are episodic movement disorders in which abnormal movements are present only during attacks. Although increasingly being recognised they are often poorly characterised in the veterinary literature and are commonly mistaken for an epileptic seizure, both by owners and by vets. In this program, participants will learn through video footages how to recognise paroxysmal dyskinesia and differentiate these episodes from epileptic seizures. The current state of knowledge in the understanding, diagnosis and management of PDs will be discussed with emphasis on breed-specific PDs.
