About this Lecture
About this Lecture
In this program, participants will learn about the historical, clinical and exam findings related to the diagnosis of lumbosacral disease. Exam techniques to isolate the lumbosacral region and to help rule out involvement of other regional anatomic injuries or diseases will also be discussed. Participants will also be presented with a discussion on appropriate diagnostics to define the problem and rule out other problems with similar signs. The benefits and limitations of several diagnostic modalities will be addressed. Finally, the program will address both classic and novel treatment strategies including both surgical and non-surgical management. The pros, cons, and efficacy of each treatment option will be presented using data from the literature. Overall, the program will summarize an evidence based approach for veterinarians to use to advise their clients when managing cases of suspected or confirmed lumbosacral disease.
