About this Lecture
Septic shock is a combination of several types of shock that result from critical inflammatory illness. Hypovolaemia, distributive shock, and cardiogenic shock combine to produce symptoms of hypotension, excess interstitial fluid accumulation and poor cardiac output. Treatment of septic shock involves careful administration of intravenous fluids, combined with appropriate vasopressor and inotropic support – and even corticosteroids in some patients. Join us as we review the latest literature on septic shock, including how, and when to use pharmacology to achieve the best outcome for these critical patients.
