Speaker Bio
Dr. Karla Smith is a Consulting Veterinarian in Clinical Toxicology. She is originally from Arizona. She graduated from Colorado State University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2000. After veterinary school Dr. Smith worked in small animal practice (general medicine and emergency) until 2004, when she moved to Illinois to work at the Animal Poison Control Center. She is involved with Greyhound rescue and has been breeding Borzoi since 2011. She is active in many dog sports, including lure coursing, obedience and the new sport of canine nose work.
