About this Lecture
About this Lecture
In this lecture, participants will enhance their skills in the detection of a mechanical ileus using radiographs and ultrasound. The participants will learn the radiographic markers of distension as well as a comprehensive review of abdominal radiography relating to the gastro-intestinal tract. Additionally, they will learn how and when to effectively use ultrasound in the diagnosis of a mechanical obstruction. The lecture is aimed at increasing the confidence of participants in using the imaging modalities in a practical manner. Participants will engage interactively in several cases, which will cement their knowledge and teach them to apply the learned skills in a practical setting.
