About this Lecture
About this Lecture
The gut and brain are closely connected through the nervous system, bloodstream, and microbiome. In dogs with epilepsy, seizures are only part of the story – the gut-brain axis and changes in the microbiome may also influence disease progression and cognitive function. In this lecture, Dr. Volk explores the role of dietary modification, including medium-chain triglycerides and fecal microbiota transplantation, in the management of idiopathic epilepsy and cognitive dysfunction in dogs.
