In this lecture, participants will learn about the various conditions that can affect the paws of dogs and cats. This will done in a problem oriented way, with pododermatitis being categorised into different presentations: pruritic and erythematous paws; alopecic paws; interdigital nodules and draining tracts; paw swellings; pad disorders; and claw disorders. Within these categories, the various aetiologies will be described, including parasitic, infectious, allergic, traumatic, conformational, immune-mediated, metabolic, genetic and neoplastic. Diagnostic and treatment approaches will be described.
