About this Lecture
More dogs every day are being used by government agencies to find drugs, explosives, human remains and other animal species. At the same time pet owners have discovered the sport of canine nose work and are enjoying the benefits of this engaging and stimulating activity. There is much we don’t know about the canine olfaction system and what factors may influence a dog’s ability to perform scent work appropriately. This lecture is going to examine the canine olfaction system and look at various drugs that may, or may not, affect scenting ability.
