Diaphragmatic Ruptures (hernias) can be one of the more challenging cases to manage in private practice and sometimes you won’t even suspect they are present until the routine anaesthetic goes pair-shaped! Lets not even start with perineal hernias.
In this lecture we will discuss the types of diaphgramatic ruptures and true hernias that can occur and how to manged them. We will discuss all the tips and tricks to getting the best outcome for our patients including the best ways to avoid Acute Lung Injury and Re-expansion Pulmonary Oedema. We will also discuss the diagnosis, pathophysiology and treatment of perineal hernias which has continued to prove a challenge to the yound and old. Finally we will talk about the best ways to manage traumatic abdominal wall rupture.
