Focus on Surgical Skills – Metatarsal, metacarpal fracture repair

In this program, participants will learn about the numerous options available for repair of metacarpal and metatarsal fracture repair and the application of each technique. Most importantly participants will learn about the potential pitfalls associated with each technique. This discussion will include a guide to interpretation of the bone healing and guidance as to when to allow a return to normal activity or removal of external co-aptation. This program will also discuss how specific combinations of fractures can represent complex concurrent injuries that require more aggressive management options.
