About this Lecture
About this Lecture
An open fracture is defined as a fracture that has been contaminated by exposure to the environment, as a result of an open wound associated with the fracture. Because open fractures are essentially contaminated wounds with an associated fracture, they must be managed promptly and carefully – as failure to do so can lead to delayed fracture healing, and infection, among other sequelae. Join emergency clinician, Dr. Philip Judge, as he outlines a research and evidence-based approach to managing these critical wounds!
